Second Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Agriculture
Agriculture is by far the single most important economic activity in Africa. It provides employment for about two-thirds of the continent’s working population. Realizing Africa’s full agricultural potential will require significant investment. China is committed to exploring new pathways of agricultural cooperation with Africa, and work with the international community to help Africa achieve the goals set out in the African Union's Agenda 2063 and Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Program to develop modern agriculture.
The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences is hosting a Sub Forum on Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation at the Second Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in Agriculture from 13-15 November 2023 in Sanya, Hainan Province. The theme of the the sub forum is: Leading Agricultural Modernization in China and Africa through Technological Innovation and Cooperation.
The African Academy of Sciences (AAS) is participating in the forum and will give a keynote speech on Africa’s Research & Innovation Agenda led by Dr Obed Ogega, Programmes Manager, AAS.
