APPOINTMENT OF A SUBSTANTIVE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR AT THE AAS
On behalf of the Governing Council, I am pleased to announce to you the appointment of Dr Peggy Oti-Boateng as the Executive Director of the AAS effective 1st November 2022.
With more than 30 years of contribution to international development, science policy and capacity building in the basic sciences and engineering, Dr. Peggy Oti-Boateng brings along a wealth of experience to take the AAS to higher heights.
We hope that her knowledge of the STI ecosystem globally, but more so in Africa, will guide her to create new collaborations, while strengthening the existing collaborations to achieve the vision and mission of the AAS.
Dr Peggy Oti-Boateng has previously held many positions, which include:
Dr Peggy Oti-Boateng holds a PhD degree in Food Science and Technology obtained from the University of Adelaide, South Australia, and a BSc degree, with specialization in Biochemistry, from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana.
The Governing Council warmly congratulates Dr. Peggy Oti-Boateng on her appointment as Executive Director of the AAS, and invites all our stakeholders to support her in her efforts to take the Academy to the next level.
