Biography

Dr Ahmed F. Zobaa is a pioneering figure in power systems, renowned for his ground-breaking contributions at Brunel University London. His academic journey began at Cairo University, where he was a prominent faculty member from 1992 to 2007. He focused on power systems analysis, renewable energy, and energy efficiency during this time. Dr Zobaa's early research earned him recognition as a leading expert in the field, and he mentored numerous aspiring engineers, leaving a lasting impact on the academic community. In 2007, Dr Zobaa's quest for new challenges led him to Exeter University in the UK, where he became a Senior Lecturer in Renewable Energy. He expanded his research into renewable energy integration and smart grid technologies, pushing the boundaries of understanding renewable energy's potential. Serving as the Electrical Engineering Team Leader for the Partnership for Research in Marine Renewable Energy (PRIMaRE), a £15M project, showcased his ability to collaborate internationally and advance knowledge in his domain. In 2010, Brunel University London recognized Dr Zobaa's expertise and accomplishments, appointing him as a Senior Lecturer in Power Systems. His tenure at Brunel has been marked by ground-breaking contributions in diverse aspects of power systems engineering, from power quality improvement to energy-efficient systems and microgrid integration. His research has enriched academia and influenced industry practices and policy-making in electrical power engineering. Dr Zobaa's passion for sustainable energy solutions in Africa has been a driving force throughout his career. He has been a vocal advocate for renewable energy adoption and has actively promoted the integration of clean energy sources into power grids. His research has offered invaluable insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with renewable energy, inspiring practical solutions to mitigate climate change and reduce carbon footprints. Beyond research and teaching, Dr Zobaa's leadership extends to various professional organizations, where he has served in advisory and editorial roles. He has been pivotal in organizing international conferences, symposiums, and workshops, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing among researchers and practitioners worldwide. Dr Ahmed F. Zobaa's remarkable career has left an indelible mark on electrical engineering. From Cairo University to Brunel University London, his dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions and empowering the next generation of engineers continues to inspire and shape the future. As the world faces pressing energy and climate change challenges, Dr Zobaa's work serves as a beacon of hope, illuminating the path to a greener and more sustainable world.
