Biography

Dr Street is the Director at the Environment & Health Research Unit within the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC). Her background and training encompass both natural sciences and public health, providing her with a unique perspective on tackling complex global challenges. Dr Streets extensive research portfolio is dedicated to investigating diverse aspects of historical and emerging environmental contaminants and the impact on human health. Dr Street demonstrates a keen interest in addressing public health issues and formulating effective policy strategies. She is currently a steering committee member of INGSA Africa (International Network for Governmental Science Advice). This role allows her to utilize her passion for impactful change and contribute to the broader dialogue on effective science communication and decision making.
