Professor Kogieleum Naidoo, MBChB, PhD, serves as the Deputy Director at the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA). She also serves as honorary associate professor in the College of Health Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Her research contributions have significantly influenced both local and international guidelines on TB-HIV treatment integration. Prof. Naidoo plays key roles on several influential committees that shape the global and regional response to the HIV and TB epidemics, including Vice Chair of the NIH ACTG Tuberculosis Transformative Science Group, the WHO HIV Guideline Development Committee, the South African National DR-TB Clinical Advisory Committee, the TB Vaccine Working Group of the South African National Advisory Group on Immunization, and as board member of the Southern African HIV Clinicians Society. Prof. Naidoo has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles, with eight receiving over 100 citations each, highlighting her impact in the field (h-Index: 35, Citations: >9500). Prof. Naidoo has received several prestigious awards for her contributions to science, including the Silver Scientific Achievement Award from the South African Medical Research Council in 2024, Outstanding Female Scientist Prize from the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) in 2023 and the Union Scientific Prize from the International Union against TB and Lung Disease in 2013. She was recently elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society of South Africa in 2023 and is a member of the Academy of Science of South Africa since 2022.
