Essien Etim Moses

Biography

Prof. Essien started his academic carrier as a lecturer and Consultant of Hematology in the University and College Hospital of Ibadan in Nigeria in 1970 becoming Professor in the same Institution in 1977. He has conducted studies of Hemophilic diseases, especially, factor VIII C deficiency in the Nigerian African. He served as Head of Department of Hematology (1978 – 1981), Sub – Dean (1985 – 1988) at the University of Ibadan and Director of the National institute for Medical Research in Lagos (1989 – 1992), Nigeria. He is Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Science and is a member of the World Health organization Expert Panel on Blood, the American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is one of the founding members of the Association of Pathologists of Nigeria. He is author of over 100 scientific publications including contribution in 13 books.
