Biography

Prof. Ahmed ElSayed is a distinguished medical professional with extensive experience in clinical practice, medical education, and research. With a background in surgery subspecializing in cardiothoracic surgery and a commitment to advancing healthcare in Sudan, he has played a pivotal role in training the next generation of physicians while actively contributing to research and innovation in clinical fields and medical education.
As a professor and senior faculty member at Alzaeim Alazhari University, Prof. ElSayed has led surgical education and curriculum development, ensuring that medical students and trainees receive high-quality, competency-based training. His leadership extends beyond academia, as he has been instrumental in collaborating to enhance medical training methodologies, particularly in crisis settings.
Prof. ElSayed has also been a key figure in implementing digital and non-traditional teaching strategies, leveraging technology to improve access to medical education amidst Sudan’s ongoing challenges. His research interests include cardiology, surgery, surgical education, use of technology in health and education, and healthcare accessibility for displaced populations. He has successfully led numerous research initiatives and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals.
In response to the current crisis in Sudan, Prof. ElSayed has been at the forefront of initiatives aimed at maintaining medical education continuity and healthcare service delivery. His work with institutions such as the Alazhari Health Research Center his dedication to improving healthcare outcomes despite resource limitations.
Through his expertise, leadership, and commitment to medical education and innovation, Prof. ElSayed continues to make a profound impact on healthcare and medical training, both within Sudan and internationally.
