The China–Africa Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Alliance (CAASTIA) is a strategic platform jointly initiated by the African Academy of Sciences (AAS) and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS) under the framework of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). CAASTIA serves as a bridge for collaboration among agricultural research institutions, universities, agribusinesses, and international partners in China and Africa.

The CAASTIA General Assembly 2025, co-hosted by AAS, CAAS, and the Mission of the People’s Republic of China to the African Union, with support from the Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research (EIAR) and industry partners, will take place from 26–29 October 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Held under the theme: “Joint Effort through CAASTIA towards China–Africa Modern Agricultural Development,” the General Assembly will convene high-level leaders, policymakers, scientists, and private sector partners to deepen China–Africa cooperation in agricultural science, technology, and innovation.
