Chemical Sciences
Dr. Xolile Fuku is a senior lecturer at the University of South Africa's Institute for Nanotechnology and Water Sustainability (iNanoWS). He is a member of the South African Chemical Institute (SACI) and the South African Councils for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). Dr. Fuku is an emerging researcher with over 10 years of experience in the water-energy nexus. His research interests include electrochemical sensors, energy systems; with emphasis on battery materials and hydrogen fuel cells technologies. He significantly expanded his research focus to clean-sustainable energy solutions, with a specific interest in thermal energy, electrolysis, and CO2 conversion. Dr. Fuku has 44 peer-reviewed scientific papers, 3 book chapters, and has presented at over 44 local and international conferences. Furthermore, he supervises and mentors early-career researchers as well as MSc and PhD students. He was elected as an AAS affiliate for his significant contribution to the water-energy nexus through technology advancemnet and innovation.
