Biography

Dr. Eng. Thierry C. Fotso-Nguemo is a researcher in Atmospheric and Climate Sciences, at the Climate Change Research Laboratory (CCRL) of the National Institute of Cartography (Yaounde, Cameroon). In September 2018, he completed a PhD degree in Atmospheric Sciences at the Laboratory for Environmental Modelling and Atmospheric Physics (LEMAP) of the University of Yaounde 1 (Yaounde, Cameroon), where he still contributes as an associate researcher. His research mainly focuses on the understanding of climate variability and change, and their impacts on hydroclimatology as well as extreme weather events over Africa. He was elected as an AAS Affiliate member not only for his substantial contribution to the analysis of the potential impacts of increased global warming on extreme rainfall and temperature events over Africa, through research papers published in respected international peer-reviewed journals, but also for his involvement in several research, collaborative and expertise activities in Africa and elsewhere.
