Associate Professor Moussa is a nationally renowned architect. She earned two Ph.D. degrees: her first was from Cairo University, Egypt, in 2017, while her second was from the Technical University of Berlin, Germany, in 2021. She was awarded the Best PhD Thesis Award in Engineering in 2017, the Best Publication Award in 2018, and the Mohamed Farid Khamis Research Excellence Award in 2022. Dr. Moussa significantly expanded the quality of research work in integrating renewable energy with urban spaces, desalinating seawater, recycling organic wastes, and reducing carbon emissions. She established the first solar-station for charging electric cars in Cairo. She is an international journal reviewer, a member of the editorial boards of some international peer-reviewed journals, and a member of several scientific committees. Her aim is to help African nations expand the use of renewable energy and improve their quality of life. She was elected as an AAS Affiliate for her field applications in integrating renewable energy with urban spaces.
